Ark Encounter and Creation Museum Photos
By Tom EatonAugust 24, 2017
This last weekend, we had over 80 people participate in a 2 day trip to visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter near Florence KY. We had 30 Teens and Tweens from Trinity and Salem, along with several adult chaperones, that was the main focus of the trip. We also had 40-50 adult members of Trinity that joined our teens to visit the attractions.
*I believe that this may one of the largest trips that Trinity (and Salem) members have taken together*
We had 2 chartered buses that carried the adults, teens, and tweens down to the Ark on Friday, August 18th and back again on Saturday, August 19th. The bus leaders kept everyone busy with trivia games, movies, and most importantly, snacks!
The group started the trip at 6 am on Friday and arrived at the Creation Museum at 11 am. They toured the museum and planetarium until 4 pm and then headed over to the Florence mall for dinner.
The Teens and Tweens headed over to the Ark after dinner so that they could have a special tour of the zoo, have fun with a scavenger hunt on the Ark and ended the "evening" at 1 am Saturday. They (and the chaperones) spent the night on the Ark and got up at 7 am to enjoy zip line adventures and touring the Ark with their friends and family members. Everyone loaded up on the buses at 3 pm to start a quiet trip back home. The buses arrived back at Trinity a little before 9 pm on Saturday.
I think it is safe to say that everyone had a great time on the trip! We had a lot of fun and fellowship together!
Huge thanks to Barb Vershum for taking the lead with planning this event over the last 4-5 months!! In addition, we would like to say thanks to Brenda Stevenson and Beth Newman for their help with planning and managing the snacks and activities on each of the buses. We could not have done this without the assistance of all of the MANY chaperones, both from Trinity and Salem!!
